Ambient Temperature Troubleshooting 200 1982

Any one know the resistance range for the ambient temperature probe? I also need to know the expected temperature reading on the guage at various input [probe] resistances.

I think my guage is ok but the probe is not working right. This is an analog guage.

Supposedly, the trick to that gauge is to run a separate ground from the probe to the (-) on the gauge, then to ground. Otherwise accuracy suffers.
