Total end link failure? 200 84

My wife was driving the 84 242T yesterday and reported an "on its last legs" sound from the suspension. I took it out today and noticed that both front end links appear to have completely failed. I run a 25mm IPD sway bar which I installed a couple of months ago with the associated new upper bushings. On both endlinks I see that the poly bushing that is supposed to sit underneath the swar bar is instead resting down near the control arm. The sway bar itself is pivoting / jammed on what is left of the ring which is supposed to support the lower bushing. The upper nuts and bushings are still in place, but the there is no tension on the sway bar itself. This all results in a clunk that is, well let's say, noticable. Has anybody ever heard of end links failing link this?

And, yes, I just ordered my pair of Nick Choy End Links.

Re: Total end link failure - holy MOSES! 200 84

What do you think the root cause of this failure is? What portion of the link actually failed?

You will enjoy the NickChoyEndlinks, although there is slightly more road feel at 40 psi.

I haven't taken it apart for the post mortem inspection yet, but it appears that the flat section which supports the lower of the top end link bushings failed. Strange it did it on both sides. Makes me think I botched the sway bar install - but is that even possible?
