checking motor mounts 900 1995

i understand that the motor mounts on the later yr 940s dont last long.. How do I check for conditions of these...Where located on 1995 940??.. Are they hard to replace??? IPD says they are vulnereable and not made to last because they are designed to be broken in case of an accident(safety feature).. I read at another site that they can allow enough engine sag to make oil filter replacement hard to impossible...Any suggestions again appreciated..JOHN

Re: checking motor mounts 900 1995

The motor mounts are at the front of the engine, behind the accessories (steering pump, A/C, etc...). The engine has two arms with the mounts on the bottom of these. They are on top of the cross-member. To check, crawl under the car and make sure there is clearance between the oil pan and the cross-member. When they are dead, the engine sits right on the cross-member and vibrates the car to oblivion.
