Replacing Rear Speakers Help! ALL 1995

I have a 1995 960, and I was wanting to replace the rear hatshelf speakers. I have taken the cover of before too look at the speakers, but is it very hard to replace these speakers? Do I need to take the seat out and all that? I am not very knowledgeble in repair work, please help. I was hoping that I could just unscrew the speakers, undo the connectors and replace them with new speakers. Is it not that easy? Thanks!

Re: Replacing Rear Speakers Help! ALL 1995

Seneca,

Yes you must remove the rear seat, and rear deck cover to get the old speakers out and the new in. Tom Irwin, a fomer regular on the B board, posted a very good step by step on the process a number of years ago. Check the achives for his post ... It's not too hard to do but a bit of a PITA. The new Infinity three ways I put in, sure beat the crappy sound the OEM set produced, So I would say it's worth the trouble.
