Cheap Springs 200 92

Does anyone know where to find new springs, factory stifness for the 240? Mine are all shot and saggy and the fronts really need replaced. I will go with some overloads on the rear, but need factory on the front.

Thanks

Peter

What about rear coils from a 245 in a boneyard?? I bought a pair last week for under $40 the pair for my saggy 244 1986.

    Good Luck,

      Hi Bob -

Have you installed your new/old 245 springs yet/do they make a difference?

I may go out today or at least this week to do the same.

How did you unfasten the bottom nut? While trying to remove the rear swaybar, I souldn't get the bolt loose from the lower spring mount (was trying to do this to unbing the shock bolt, as the car was in the air and I couldn't compress the spring in order to remove the shock/swaybar bolt)

Anyway, the bolt in the spring mount would also turn with its nut. No wrench would go onto the top of the bolt because it was like a cariage bolt top, not a hex head.

      how'd you do it?

I live in New York, If you were close, you could take my stock ones and try them in the rear but you gotta come get them.

Nope, I am afriad I am in Southern Illinois. I would be happy to pay for shipping and a little for the springs, if you think they are in good shape.

I'm 99% sure they are fine. Hell, I have never needed an ailignment or new shocks yet at 196K. I'm very easy on my cars. BUT I'd hate to ship them and have them be no good. Let me see what shipping would cost. and I'll let you know what it would be.

Send me some e-mail off line and give me your address so I can check the shipping with your zip code.

Can't help you with the fronts

The backs may not be shot. I thought mine were on there way out and it ended up being my rear bushings. They brought the car down about 3/4" Just enough for my mud flaps to hit everytime i went up my driveway.

I did eventually go with the IPD overload springs. With two kids and a lot of sports equipment, they're nice.

carparts.com has Moog Cargo Coils (overloads) for the rear form about 65-68.00.

I havn't yet found a good price on factory rate fronts( mine is sagging horribly on the driver's side (PO was a bit weighty)
