B20 oil leaks 120-130 1964

Hey all, thanks for the help on the conversion, but I did a compression test and it appears that I have full compression on all cylinders-rings are not bad. So now I need a different explaination for the positive pressure in my oil system. I think it may have something to do with the crank case breather. Also, I maybe missing a valve between valve cover and breather. Does one exist? Maybe this is my problem? Any imput would be appreciated. I really have no idea-could it just be seals?

Thanks-Josh

Re: B20 oil leaks 120-130 1964

Did you do a compression test or a leakdown test? Compression can be OK (or at least even) even if there's noticable leak. Anyway, the breather should be open and clean. There is no valve between the breather and the valve cover, there should however be a flame trap (small mesh thingy, on a B20 usually installed on top of the breather box), which can clog up and cause overpressure. Also check your hose configuration against other vehicles of the same age, I'ld guess the hoses might be miswired. If I recall correctly even the B18 wired both the valve cover hose and the breather box hose to the intake manifold; wiring them to each other would be a bit pointless as there's already a wide open connection between the two (through the lifter channels), and you need the vacuum to extract the fumes.
