faulty speedo 700 85

Hello folks,i have an 85 740 gle auto, ci injection (no computer) and when the car is in neutral or park with the engine running, if you accelerate and increase the rev's, the speedo needle will jump up to the 30 kph mark. Also my rev gauge comes on intermitantly.

Any suggestions........much appreciated.

Check your grounds. I have seen some speedos register 40 to 100 KPH with the ignition turned off because of this problem. Clean your mass ground point and see if that takes care of the problem.
