bad wiring harness 700 1985

I playing with 1985 740GLE, and can see that the previous owner had wiring problems; spices, electrical tape, cut open harness, etc. Since I'm going over the whole car, and I have the time, I did want to try to to correct as much as possible, now. Does anybody have a good source for wiring harness? I've seen as low as 280.00 (volvoparts.com) but if that's the best price I might try to replace what I can see is bad for now. MONEY IS AN ISSUE) I would appreciate any direction on this.

Call Philip at Swedish Engineering in Mariettta, Georgia, (800) 928-6586. He sold me an original Volvo engine wire harness for 760 turbo for around $230. It was money well spent.

I bought a used harness for a 760 from WWW.Newandusedvolvoparts.com.

You can rewire it yourself. You will need high temperature wire, the insulation actually, and time. Mark each connector with it's mate, ie temp sensor, throttle switch, oil pressure guage, and have at it.

I replaced mine with a new one and kept the old one since I plan to rewire it and keep it.

Simon Eng has instructions which someone else or I can post. They could be in the FAQ.

Sir, would you mind sharing those instructions with me?? I own a 740 GLE S/W that has been disabled due to harness practically being fried.
