Vacuum Tap for Boost/Fuel Economy Gauge 200 1992

I'm going to add a fuel economy gauge to my '92 240, but I'm not sure where to hook up the vacuum line.

Can I do this under the dash, or would it be more accurate if I run it thru the firewall and use a tap closer to the manifold?

In either case, is there an easily accessible vacuum tap available?

    Dave-

T into the thin line off the intake manifold on the engine side of the throttle body. That will work great, but you have to run a line through the firewall like the turbos do.

Agreed, closer to the engine is better. I bought a turbo cluster for my 242 DL a while ago and teed the boost gauge from the vacuum lines too close to the heater system - gauge worked intermittantly depending on what heat position options I had selected (feet, window, recirc).
