Inexpensive sources for O2 sensor??? 900 1995

Gas milage and performance of wife's 1995 945T has been going downhill for past several weeks. O2 sensor is only cycling every 8-10 seconds or so when lead is backprobed, looks like I need a new one. This particular year and model has an EGR valve, and local sources for this O2 sensor range from $220 at dealer to $195 at NAPA. IPD has one for $165. Anyone have any ideas on a cheaper source? Will the O2 sensor for an older model b230ft (1991-1993) work just as well? They seem to be cheaper (Borton has one for $123). Is it just me, or has the price of O2 sensors gone up in the past 6 or 8 months?

What about the universal 3-wire? It seems like those are really cheap if you are willing to do some splicing. If I can get a decent deal on one that doesn't need to be spliced, that would be preferable.

I bought mine from IPS in Boise, and spliced the wiring harness to it. 1-800-897-7278. Universal with heater was Bosch 13 913 for $40.

// Do you know of differences so that your solution would not apply to all mods with o2 sensor??

I don't know all the differences. The single wire generate a voltage for O2. The three wire units have a resistive heating element. Ask your vendor.
