Hey, guys, I had a post the other day on milling my head, so this is a progress report- apparently this engine ( B230FT )had been overheated sometimes in it's life, and the head is warped. the machine shop ( a very good one ) is going to try to heat & straighten the head. no guarentees, it may crack.tho they have had success in the past. It had to be heated up to do a weld repair prior to milling anyway.Anyone have any experience with this process? assuming it fails; anyone have a head for sale? I was gonna do some preventitive maintenance on the turbo, while it was out; I'd noticed some oil smoke after prolonged Idle, but found the whole rotating group must be changed. appx $ 500.00. Compression on #1 & #2 cyls was 150 psi. this sound reasonable for 165K miles? how about rings & rod bearings while the car is down? can I pull the pistons/rods with the engine still in the mounts, ie from under the car? sorry for the long post. Thanks in Advance, Steve
