Also fuel filter fuel filter fuel filter.

Sounds like a fuel starvation issue under load. Others have given good advice too, check for vacuum leaks and check throttle switch adjustment.

FUEL FILTER. :-)

Your fuel pump isn't making weird noises is it? Not screaming at you I hope?

Re: surging on accellerating 140-160 75

fuel filter might be it. ill change it this weekend......fuel pump is a little noisy..but all the 164e ive had are noisy....checked all the vacume lines....this one has an air pump on it...i never had one with the air pump...if i sit in the driveway not in gear or under load and rev engine it goes right up and i hear a slight pop ever now and then...like a back fire...but not loud....as soon as i put it in gear and step down....it hesitates then goes as long as i dont ask for more fuel it will shift all gears(auto) but i cant step on gas..then it will go/stop/go/stop/go/stop...but never shuts off, let off the gas pedal..and it will run ok and roll right along...as soon as i step down any bit it starts stumbling again......i know its some thin dumb....always is....brain just anit workin..

Vacuum sensor for the injection on the inner wing sounds a likely culprit.

Re: surging on accellerating 140-160 75

Hi Joe

Brain's in gear now, think it needs new O rings or summat.

The Pressure sensor is an aneroid capsule moving an armature in a transformer. You test it by measuring the resistance of the windings

Resistance between pins 7 and 15, the primary winding should be approx 90 ohms

Resistance between pins 8 and 10, the secondary winding, should be approx 350 ohms.

All other combinations should be infinite

Regards

Pete
