What's a carb bowl 700 92

There's a black canister with hoses located in the front left. It says carb bowl on it. What does it do?

/// No argument with the two answers you have but... A carb bowl is the chamber in a carburetor that fills with gas from the gas pump until the float in that bowl rises and pushes the needle valve closed cutting off the gas from the fuel pump. The rising and falling of the float due to fuel demand opens and closes the needle valve keeping a supply of fuel ready in the bowl.

If you were to have a vehicle with a carbureter, there would be a hose coing from that fitting to a fitting on the *carb* bowl that would recycle fuel vapours through the engine instead of venting them into the atmosphere.

That fitting is plugged off on mine.

My guess is along the same lines, except that it may be retained in FI cars as part of the fuel tank vent vapour recovery system, an antipollution requirement.

Yes, I found out it is part of the vapor recovery system which consists of a carbon filter in a canister with an EVAP valve on top.

        Thanks
