Bosch Alfa (a little volvo content)

I'm just throwing this out here hoping to get a bite. Searching the web for other tech forums is not my idea of fun so I came back to ol' faithful The fam has a alfa spyder veloce w/bosch jetronic not unlike the Volvo (a really nice thing about the Alfa is that you can swap parts w/ the Volvo, even tires). It has a problem where it became restricted to rev only up to 3500 rpm where it sits. Just like a normal rev limiter but at the wrong rpm range. Happened while driving. Any ideas on the problem or a good forum to refer to would be wonderful. Thank you for any help.

Re: Bosch Alfa (a little volvo content)

No idea about other forums, but you might try swicthing the rev-limiting rotor in the distributor, if there is one. It could be that the spring that governs the max # of revs in the dizzy has worn out. My BMW 2002 came with one stock, but switching it with a normal one was a vast improvement.
