Water Pump Brands in Australia 200 83

What experience have you folks had with the different brands of waterpumps for Volvos that are available in Australia? How much is a fair price and where do you get them from? Volvo wants $Aus147.

Re: Water Pump Brands in Australia 200 83

roger,

have you tried repco? www.repco.com.au

not to sure about quality from these guys but worth a try. as for keeping the tension loose on the belt you need to be careful because the alternator needs quite a bit of torque to pump out enough juice.

good luck

Re: Water Pump Brands in Australia 200 83

Roger,

I don't know what brand in in my '77 (its not here so I can't check), but it was installed in Oct last year and cost $139 for the pump, another $100 for labour (the PO had the work done, not me). Total cost was $272.82

Reading the invoice, the mech did it differently to Haynes. He pulled the radiatior etc.

Good Luck.

John

Roger,

Don't buy anything from volvo if you can avoid it. If you are on the east coast " A CLASS PARTS " in Revesby Sydney are ok $125.00, I priced one last week.

Note: belt tension is critical as loose as possible is good.

Ian
