Best water pump for Volvo 200 1984

Bricksters,

I notice that my water pump on 245 GLT is leaking water. I heard that OE water pumps are the best for our car (last longer) or am I wrong? What is the average price for the OE water pumps.

Cliff

My current HEPU pump is at 70k. I bought a spare for $39, but I haven't had to install it yet.

I have been using GMB replacement water pumps for a number of years and have never had to take advantage of their lifetime warranty. The last one I purchased was from Import Parts Specialists, Inc. in Boise, ID (mail order) www.importpartsspec.com 1-800-897-7278. In August of 2000 they were $36.00

I like the volvo pump; complete kit, seals, bolts, studs and polished sealing surfaces on the casting. British make, I think. $86.59 w/ 20 percent vcoa discount.

Have a Hepu (German make I think) to try next. $37.95.

One opinion.

Where do I get a Hepu Pump? Do they last as long as the Volvo pump?

Won't know how long it lasts for years (hopefully). It is still in the box.
