Is it possible to put a 740/940 '92 model radiator and el. fan in? 700 1988

Hey all,

As you guessed by my post, i am wondering if i could fit a 92 model fan(electric)/radiator set up into an 88 NA 740? I will need to replace the radiator sooner rather than later, it is already 13 years old, their life is only about 10 yrs (the car has been driven on some pretty rough roads in it's time)...I live in australia so cooling can become an issue....I am hoping that it will all be a nearly bolt in fit, with only slight mods needed.... Is that so? How different are the mounts? i have a manual trans, so is there an issue with the fact that (i think) 99% of 92 model 740/940's here only came with autos?

Thanks in advance all!!

Azza

As far as the radiator fitting, I think that's no problem. If you visit the Turbobricks.org website, there are electric fan mods that have wiring diagrams which you will need. I am doing that conversion right now. There are many alternatives to using the "Volvo" electric fan. I am going with GM, that seems to be popular, but you will see dual Toyota fans too. The temperature sensor for the circuit is in the radiator, it is the push-in sensor.
