Bosch Part Number for Main Relay 200 1987

If anyone has the Bosch part number for the Main Relay (the white one that powers the fuel pumps, I would greatly appreciate it. I have had no luck funding a Bosch cross reference to the one I have installed.

You mean that one, there, on the left?

Sorry Don. I should have looked a little closer at the picture. At first I couldn't tell if it was the six pin (two rows of three)relay. If it is, then that is the one.

Unfortunately, no. There may not be a Bosch replacement for this relay, but since the one I just installed was manufactured about a month after the one it replaced, and the one that failed was only a year old, I am hoping to find a better alternative. The relay in question has six pins. Opened it up and it has 2 coils. I don't have it with me right now so I can't be any more specific. By the way, thanks for the picture Don.

Resolder, resolder, resolder.

Do your OD relay, too. (That's the other one in the picture....)

Re: Bosch Part Number for Main Relay 200 1987

I have only owned the car for about 2 months. Since the windsheild doesn't leak now, I assume that it did at one time. The failed relay coils were rusted and the contacts were oxidized severly. As a precaution, what do you think about running a bead of RTV around the case joint?

Re: Bosch Part Number for Main Relay 200 1987

If you think the relay's rusty 'cause the windshield leaked, I'd sure get the seats 'n carpets out and dry out the floorboards. Otherwise the relay will be the least of your rusty problems.

Anyway, rather than seal the relay, I'd position it so it faced downwards.

I had a friend with an '81 -- his windshield leaked and filled up the wiper relay. Filled, right to the top. The wipers wouldn't stop. He drove the car like that for a month, pulled the fuse to stop the wipers.

I washed out the green corrosion crud inside the relay, rinsed it thoroughly, heat-dried it, resoldered it, and plugged it in. That was four years ago and the wiper relay still runs fine.
