I need to get the Diodes for my alternator..Does anyone know where...

You may find that the connections are not soldered with lead solder. I don't know. The rebuild sites I checked weeks ago used a copper alloy to connect parts in alternators.

Bottom line is you need the correct replacement part just as you would for any other auto part.

On the AVR meter under no load 20 amp output. at 12.3 volts under loadhank

Get them at Digikey. You might go some higher amperage ones, like 80 amps or so. You might consider a remanufactured one, all checked out, clean and a warrantee. Your choice.

Alternator diodes are replaced as an assembly. This is because they are pressed into a heatsink and the diode-to-diode connections are brazed. The assemblies are available from alternator rebuild shops. Diodes are usually diagnosed by using a scope to observe the alternator's output waveform. Normal scope pattern is a straight line, at approx. 14VDC, with a small amount of AC ripple. A bad diode is indicated by a flat spot or negative spike for open or shorted diode. Some auto electrical manuals show waveform pictures. If the regulator is good, the next test to do is a full field test. Again, manuals will give the procedure. If you want to do the waveform test, you can use any general purpose oscilloscope or find a shop with a machine that will display alternator waveforms.
