We only talk about problems on this board. Lets hear some good stories. We know about our Volvos legendary safety records so thats a given. What about its long lasting attributes. Anyone with 200K plus miles with original engine, transmission ....

My '92 965 auto has 137k on the clock and runs like a sewing machine. I just need new suspension bushes, shocks, rotors, and some ball valves for the gearbox. Oh yes, there is also the aircon to service, the vacuum valves for the air distribution, the electric aerial mast to replace, and an infernal squeaking front passenger seat to investigate. Not sure what I'll be doing after lunch... :)

Well I have 128K on my 92 960 and as I have stated on some other posts, the problem I had for about 8 or 9 months drove everyone up the wall. I replaced the radiator(top connection broke in half),replaced the rotors, replaced AC compressor(vacuum pods are bad but I will wait awhile before I tackle those,) replaced the powerpaks, replaced 4 valves(burned one exhaust valve probably due to poor work when the previous owner had the engine rebuilt due to broken timing belt. Yes, I like the car and throughly enjoy driving it especially on the road.

Check for broken wires under the seat or a bad relay under the center console.
My antennas last about 2-3 years. I just visit the junkyard and pick up a replacement. Winter dirt gets inside, as well as water which freezes, and after a while the ant. craps out. My 965 has an on-glass antenna on the drivers side rear glass.

185,000 miles, I need to get 3-4 more years out of her, thats another 75-100k. Original everything but these major items: head gasket, fuel pumps, blower motor, vacuum valve for vents, and a few minor things like rotors, PNP switch, a battery at five years. Same starter, alternator, O2 sensor, thermostats every other year, and radiator. It does need suspension work up front. I know I'll pay for this bragging. I like this car, I miss driving it when out of town or on vacation. Now I have to go find some wood to knock on to appease the Volvo Gods.

Kewl, but he can't take pictures for shit. You never take a picture of anything into the sun, especially a white car. I wouldn't buy it for that reason.

Well, I am pleased to reply that I am the new owner of a 1992 964 with 186,000 miles on it, AND you would never know it to see it, it really looks new! It has held up incredibly and obviously has been well maintained, which I intend to continue to do.
