Smart VOV users?

I just bought an AC Delco "smart VOV" (variable orifice tube) for the A/C on my 91 245, that was converted last year to 134.

The car cools well, but not THAT well. I've been trying to decide if I should go for it or not, and I decided today to buy one.

Off to get some refrigerant so I have my stuff together tomorrow. Otherwise I'll replace the transmission instead.

I'll post results on this thing and how it works. Could be a real help to the people whose 91-92 200/700/900 A/C has crapped out, and who would like to stick with mainstream refrigerants that shops will service.

For $35 (vs. $6 for a standard one) it had better do something.
