Radio Supression Relay Function 700 1990

I'm not having any problem with it, just a nagging curiosity. What EXACTLY does the RSR feed power to. My understanding is that it's purpose is to supply power, some way or another, to operate the injectors, thus not having that cyclical current running through wires near the radio. Yet the ECU is located in the cabin, kind of near the radio.....

But I've also been lead to believe that the RSR somehow supplies power to the ignition system, and without this power, the fuel pump will not operate, as a means of avoiding flooding. In other words, if your car won't start, but you can hear the pump running, then the RSR must be OK.

Also, on the Regina system, do all injectors function simultaneously?

That's about it for now. Please someone enlighten me so I can sleep tonight.
