will '76-up manual trans bolt up to '75 B20? 200 1975

Tranny in my '75 245 w/ B20 is questionable. it may just be the shift linkage, but it hesitates before actually shifting into D. How hard is it to put a manual out of a '76 and up 240 in it? I can live without the electronic overdrive if it's a pain to get to work. I just want to know what i'll need to grab out of the junkyard to make this work. The junkyard I go to only had one B20 240 and I think it was an auto. I'd have to get a stick out of one of the 2 dozen newer 240's he has. what years have the best trannys? I do mostly highway driving. Is it hard to bolt a clutch pedal and install all that linkage? Thanks for your help. -Rob bobsealover@yahoo.com '75 245DL w/109,000 '92 Acura Vigor GS w/ 162,000.

The M46 & M47 bellhousing is different, as well as the automatic transmissions. There are bellhousings available but the cost would exceed the value of the car. Any M40 or M41 will fit your car. You will need the short shifter though. The BW35 transmission was junk. If you find somebody that knows this transmission, he (or she) may be able to buy you some time with a band adjustment or a servo o ring replacement.
