quit running 200 1987

My 240DL (1987-68000miles) began runnung rough and quickly progreesed to only running at idle any touch of the accel pedal killed the engine. Now it will start and immediately quit. I suspect a fuel pump problem but am needing more experienced advice as what to try if anything else. Thanks to all my Volvo friends, TH.

TH -

Disconnect the AMM and see if it will start and run roughly. When the AMM goes bad, this is a "Limp Home" feature that allows just that. It also points the finger at the AMM in your case.
