No start, injectors receiving no signal 700 1991

Hi,

I had an intermittent problem starting my nonturbo 740. Now it won't start at all. The fuel pump is working and there is spark. I tested the fuel injectors and they are not receiving signals when I attempt to start. Does anyone know what electrical connections are responsible or related to the fuel injector's operation. Thanks.

We just needed the radio suppression relay changed. Cheap and easy and maybe worth a shot before going after the ECU.

Or as a verification of this, just swap the wires with its neighbor, the aux fan relay.

Resolder. Reseal the plastic cover with a bead of clear RTV.

Worked like a charm on wife's '91 740.

I know all about it, working in electronics and having had old Volvos and a BMW bike for a long time. I was away from home, it was snowing, and we were about to leave for a Christmas road trip. The relay is surprisingly cheap, and now I have a spare!

You should resolder this guy and a few others "prophylacticly" at your leisure.

Hi,

i had the same problem with my brick. The B230F engine runs with the

LH 2.4 jetronic, which seams to be buggy.

The ECU BOSCH 0280000561 is a realy ... thing. Usualy the pin 20

for fuel pump relay dies (posssible to jumper) and somtime the

main circuit: replace the ECU. This is expensive if you donīt get

an used one.

The injectors are supplied with electrical power by the Radio Supression Relay which is energized by the fuel injection ECU. The injectors are opened by the ECU which grounds the injectors for a specific time determined by the ECU. The length of time is determened by the inputs to the ECU.
