Overboost switch funkiness 200 83glt

Hey guys,

Im increasing the boost in my newly i'cooled 242glt and some weirdness took place.Instead of adjusting my overboost switch with calibrated pump I decided to adjust my switch while on the car.Popped the cap to expose the screw, raised my boost with my dawes, and expected to be able to turn the screw on the switch enough to eliminate cut-out,which happens around 9 psi.

Well I could not adjust the switch enough to stop cut-out,but even when I disconnected the o'boost switch, not vacuum just elect,I still got cut-out,just as if it were hooked up.

What gives?Id like to get an adjustable switch, but Im not sure whats causing the cut-out in the first place.

Thanks for any advise.

RR

Re: Overboost switch funkiness 200 83glt

Are you adjusting the switch under the dash? The one on the firewall is the

enrichment switch and the one under the dash is overboost. The non intercooled setting is 9-10psi as you know. The intercooled one is set for 14-15psi. If you junkyarded the parts for intercooling try and get the

overboost switch from the car. I read on one of the other volvo sites that

you don't get much adjustment out of the switch only about +/-2psi. However, if you are only going to run around 10-11psi it may be enough.

Best regards,
