Remote starter info

I installed a bulldog remote starter on my 91 240. When I start th car with it it starts but after about 6 seconds there is a loud screaching then the car concks out. Its a loud ear busting high pitched noise. I dont know what it is. Any help would greatly be appricated.
Thanks

I would guess that your remote starter has a "tach mode" or some similar option that allows the system to listen to see if the engine has "caught" or not, and thereby stop cranking? I would set that up if you can.

The remote starter is probably either set up to crank continuously for 6 seconds or so, or to retry starting every 6 seconds or so, thereby zinging the starter gear.

My 780T did not respond well to the "crank for X seconds" setting, as the starter would continue to grind for a second or two after the car started, but once I hooked up the tach wire, the system starts the car just like I can.
