Hi;

I'm a newbie with way-below average car skills, but ... I've found a u-pull it place in Phoenix that has an '85 740, '85 760T, and a clean '87 240. I need parts for my '90 760T, specifically AC (condenser, compressor) and exhaust parts. Would someone please educate me on the best way to determine whether or not certain parts are transferable?

I went back to check on the car with a friend. He agrees that the car looks very clean. The yard sells the compressor/condenser package for $53. I'm considering going back to remove. How long would this take for a newbie? Where can I go for directions?

Always the best way is to take your part there and compare. Expecialy the exhaust. Even if the other part is a bit longer, but the bends are right you can always cut it. Look for rust and corrosion.

All the Volvo rotary compressors are the same and look in any 700, 240 or 900 (good luck there) for a shiny one that looks like it is recent. Best might be the yellow/black Tama or Seltec (by Tama, in small print) and if it has pressure when you loosen the hose, that is best. I might avoid Sanden if you want to install R134 but Freeze 12 ahould be great in those as well/ I have an aversion to the Deisel Kiki units with the red and blue labels but that might be unfair. I see quite a few good compressors and have had great luck with $20 like-new compressors in my cars.
As for exhaust, I think you can assume those are interchangeable too 700T to your 700T. Good luck and have fun.
