I am about to redo the entire front end of my 93 245 with 130 K miles. I have seen messages about the tower bearing from Volvo(OEM) being the only way to go.
How about the ScanTech ones sold by the discount guys?
I have had good luck with ohter Volvo replacement parts from these suppliers.
What say thee?

I'm passing on third person information here, but my good friend Zee replaced his upper strut bushings with Scantech bushings and was disappointed in them. I got burned with aftermarket rear trailing arm bushings. From now on, I'm only putting the 'high priced spread' on those locations which require time and effort to get to.

I supose it depends on how much you plan to spend, I have quite a few scantech products on my car, engine mounts, ball balljoints etc, and they seem good quality, and the price was unbeatable.

I supose it depends on just how good you thing genuine volvo stuff is, and wether it's worth the cost.

Tough one. Volvo strut mounts are higher but there are reports of early failure with KYB mounts (one year!) I think I recall, and to me the Scantech mounts do not look as good as Volvo. Still, I am getting pretty quick at dropping a strut and compressing a spring so I left them alone when I saw them (Scantech) looking OK in the flathood as I did the struts. I think if I knew they were shot, I was doing a nice restoration and planned to keep the car and drive it hard, I would only want to have Volvo mounts in there.
