Head Substitution 700 1986

I need info about heads! Is there a difference between the turbo head and the non turbo head? Can I change the cam and use a non turbo head on a turbo?
Thanks,
Art

The heads are exactly the same except for the exhaust valves. The turbo head has sodium filled stems on the exhaust valves. Turbo head can be used on non turbo engine but not the other way around. Exhaust valve life will be short. The cam is different, the turbo cam is actually smaller than the non turbo cam.

Turbo heads use sodium cooled exhaust valves. All B230FTs that I have seen use the 531 casting head.
