Although your car doesn't have a "flame trap" per say, you do have the plumbing and it should be checked and renewed as necessary. Somehow you have excess crankcase pressure (not oil pressure). You could also have a bad oil o-ring on the dip stick as well.

On my 1990 240, this is a classic sign of crankcase overcompression, usually caused by a plugged flame trap. Replace the flame trap and brass nipple. If you have a flame trap, and it gets plugged, the pressure will blow your crankshaft and camshaft seals. You will then find oil leaks galore in your engine.

Is your engine leaking oil from the front? If so, you can do the seals next time you do a timing belt.

    hth,

    Jack
