760 seat cushion swaps? 700 1986

Is it possible to switch/swap bottom leather seat cushions between drivers and front passenger seats? In other words, are the bottom cushions interchangeable or are they left and right? If possible, how difficult is the task? My 760 driver's seat is electric. Thanks in advance for any help.

The bottoms should be very easy to swap. There are two hooks on each side that hold the seat cushion in place as well as a metal bar in the front and rear. Additionally, there will be one wire hareness connection for the seat bottom seat heater. You would run into funny symetrical problems if you wanted switch the top portions of the seats because of the holes for the lumbar adjustment nobs. You may have to remove the seats from the car to make the task easier since there won't be much room to manuver in the car. Mkae sure you note how the seats are attached to seat frame, I have no idea how metal bars are supposed to fit back in and I just guessed. To remove the seats from the car there are 2 bolts front then two bolts rear. You have to move the seat forward to get to the rear bolts then back to get to the front bolts(these bolts may be beneath covers on yours). Once you get the bolts out there is a metal retaining pin in the middle of each track that holds the seats to the floor. You will have to find the right spot to lift the seats out by sliding the loosened seat back and forth. If you do this once you will be a pro.
