The manual listed at http://www.bentleypublishers.com for the 200 series
starts at the 1983 model year. From what I understand, the 240 engine changed
from the 2.1L to the 2.3L.

What manual(s) would be the best one(s) to have for a 1982 245 (non-turbo) for
the purpose of doing maintenance and minor repairs?

Another very helpful manual for the troubles that a K-jet car has is the Volvo
Problem Solver guide by Richard Gephart. IPD and VCOA were selling this. It covers just about every kind of trouble that may happen. I don't know the price
but if it saves one tow it paid for itself nowadays. Your 82 also has the Constant Idle System which the Bentley covers very well because the turbos had
this system, too. This was a one year only application for the US on the normally aspirated cars. Have a Happy New Year!

t-bone is right -- the Bentley has a *ton* of useful information for the pre-83s. Brakes, transmissions, heater fan motors, suspension, timing belts, water pumps, and tons more didn't change from the B21 K-jet to the B23 LH-jet. I've got an '81 K-jet and I use the Bentley to get into the K-jet diagnostics -- the 240 used a K-jet for its turbo right up to the end of the model (I believe), so the useful info for your K-jet is in the turbo fuel injection chapter. Get the Bentley... prices are in the low $30s on eBay.

Much of what is in the Bentley will apply to your Brick. I'd consider it my top choice for a repair maunual. Haynes had a 1980 and up version of it's manual..I don't know if it's still in print ... that would be my second choice. Don't waste your money on Chilton. My $.02
