bumper swap 200 1983

I have a 1983 245 GL with the newer plastic front and rear bumpers. What I would like to do is swap a set of older style aluminum style from my newer plastic style (I think it looks better). Can it be done? Do I need to change the trim that sits between
the bumper to the body? Any info would be great.

Yes, it can be done. You'll need the bumpers, complete with the shocks, and the trim to go between the bumper and body.
