randy is right about cutting the metal first... when I did it I made templets out of some thin cardboard to make a nice fit... then you want to test fit your 6x9s and make sure they clear on all sides, then trace with a pen from the trunk and cut the package tray... the BEST tool to use is a compressed air powered saw made by blue point... it is reciprocating and takes up very little room, also you can get blades that cut through that thick volvo metal like BUTTER... it took me less than 5 minutes to do all my cutting... (oh the joy of having access to an auto shop full of REAL tools...) ;) also, 2 things, you want the speakers to be on the flat part of the tray and not the slope so make sure they are as far forward as possible and dont forget that you need to drill holes for mounting screws, I only had enough room for 2 good holes on each speaker where I could use a machine screw and nut, on the other two I bought brackets that bridged across to some better metal to get a hold on... that way when you crank the tunes or go over a few bumps you dont have speakers rattling in the back, take the time and do the job right, that way it will last as long as the car will and you can brag to people about your professional looking installation and say "I did that"
have fun
