Convertible 1984 242 200 1984

Ok for my next stupid question. I have seen the 1800 convertiblized and also a 780 that was turned into a convertible. I assume that some serious modifications would be needed to make a 240 a convertible including reinforcing the body and such as well as removing the top portions of the doors for the window tracks. Has anyone done this. What would a ball park estimate be for this? I now this sounds stupid but I bet someone else has considered it! Sure wouldn't be a DIYer job.

We made a covertible out of a 242 turbo at Minty Volvo. You can see pictures of it at mintyvolvo.com If you don't get there like that just type in Minty Volvo in the yahoo search engine and you will get there. It is alot of work and we have now decided that we will have to add more strength to the car underneath as the car is starting to twist a bit. This conversion was done about 6 or 7 years ago.We also do pick up trucks from 242's,for this we sell a kit if you are interested let me know at butchdalton@yahoo.com.
