need to fix my doors! 200 1989

Heres the deal. I got new speakers installed over the last summer, and ever since, the door handles pop out of their sockets if you try to grab it by the arm (the skinny part that is nearest the top of the door panel). I can close the door but only if i grab the lower area (the larger part where you can place change in if you wanted to). I've lived with it for a while, but it's really getting annoying when the passenger rips it out and i have to fix it everytime. Does anyone know how to fix this annoying problem?

The door handle is removed by removing the three screws and then rotating it (clip on top section) 90 degs. Chances are whenever it was removed (or put on), it was done incorrectly or damaged. You may have also stripped the screw studs. Check those. Remove it and see whats wrong.

Shaun, There is a little clip that the end of the handle goes into then it turns to hold in place. It probably fell into the inside bottom of the door.Look at one of your doors(inside panel off)that has one to see how it works. If you have to go to the junk yard for one, make sure it's for the same side as you need. They are different left and right.
