RATTLES!!!! 200 1992

i have a sound system in my car (1992 240 wagon) and the problem is the sound system rattles something under the car. I'm not sure what it is but i was wondering if anyone knew what would rattle, maybe if something has come loose or something along those lines. Please help if anyone has any ideas. thanks!!!

Stobes

Actually Guid might have been right. I had the same problem and found the heat shield moved everytime the Bass hit. Good Luck

Funny, I put my sound system in so I wouldn't hear the rattles.

I had the same problem. It sounded like something was loose. It turned out to be my catalytic converter. I bougth new one from fcpgroton in Conn. for just above $100.00. Changed it out and problem gone.

It could be anything, what you need to do is jack the thing up and get under the car while you have the sound system cranked up and then start poking around to see if you can find the rattle, but remember the saftey rules for going under a car.

It could be exhaust heat shields. These have a tendency to start rattling over time anyway. Worth a check....

Best of luck.
