What years did Volvo use the enviromentally friendly wiring?

What years did Volvo use the enviromentally friendly wiring? And for which models. I think it was early to mid 80's on the 240 and 700 but can anyone be precise?

Bill

Approximately 1983 through 1987 model years. 1988 should be OK, although there is no guarantee for early production units in that year.

The MY '87 240 is still susceptible to wiring harness failure. I haven't heard of an '88 240 needing a wiring harness, however. I'd guess that the 740 is similar. The closer you get to the late 80's, the less chance there is that you'll need wiring replacement. Early 80's, especially turbo (more heat), will usually need some repair at some point during the lifetime of the car.
