122 Centrifugal Advance Disributor 120-130

I've got a '68 122S w/ a '70 B20 (from a 142).
My stock distributor is getting a little wobbly.
I heard somewhere that another Bosch distributor will work - a .009 (which is the centrifugal advance distributor, a typical VW bug aftermarket item).
Does anyone know if this will work?
Has anyone had any experience with this?

Ya wanna get fancy, get fancy. You can buy a bolt on distributorless twin coil system that you will never touch again. You get the one for a VW bug, the triggers fit into your old distibutor, since there won't be a rotor or points arm any more the wobble will be gone and your old dist., will have moved into the 21st century. This system uses a wasted spark setup to allow two triggers and two coils ignite 4 cyls.,like on a motorbike. My 2 cents...

I have a 63 1800 that has a 007 Bosch distributor which has centrifugal advance and it works fine. It was on the car when I bought it so I can't do ant before and after distintions. As long as the vacume diaphram is not ancient the vacume ones work fine.

I think the end of the shaft is different, as the drive mechanism is different.
And the rotation direction might not be the same...
Early BMW's (2002's) used a similar dizzy, and depending on the year, some parts can be swapped.

While that whole series of Bosch distributors LOOK almost identical, there are a BAZILLION different varieties, small changes, different springs, weights, etc... If you looked long and har enough, I'm sure something would work- but by that time, it might just be easier and no more expensive to just get a reman. Bosch unit- last I saw, they were still listed...
