breather tube 1800

When I bought my 63 1800 the breather tube simply came out of the block and emptied toward the ground under the engine. There is no inlet port on the intake manifold or breather tube on the oil filler cap (both of which are on my 66 122) so I belive this is stock. I was a bit fumey so I rigged up a hose that diverted the fume to the back like a second exhaust pipe. It did help but I wonder if there is a better way. Any comments?

You could certainly set it up like the 66, use later air filters, etc.
Parts should be fairly readily available at parts recyclers.
Clean the brass ribbon in the hose nipple of the breather box before
you install it!
