Turbo options 700 1986

I got a turbo for my 1986 740 GLE I'm going to do the engine conversion, in the mean time I need some help. The turbo is a Garrett Watercooled one. But the shaft has play. Question can i rebuild? , Can i exchange center cartriges with IPD, or ditch the turbo???

You can konvert your old B23 or B230e engine but i donīt rekomend you to do it
i have try ones and the results was that i have the pistons crack out of the block side. best bye for you is to ge an 85-86 b230et or ft becuse you ned two fuel pumps one in tank and one under the car . only some god advise from SWEDEN

ps an used engine here in Sweden cost about 300-600 dollars in very god condision.
