940 cold idle 900 1991

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions on how to solve the cold idle problem on my 940. I will try cleaning the throttle body and checking the air intake hose and see what happens. I have taken the IAC off twice to clean it but I'm not sure if I'm doing it properly. I'm just squirting a little degreaser inside and swishing it around. Can this thing be safely submerged in some cleaning agent eg. carby cleaner without doing any damage to it?
When disconnecting the O2 sensor do I disconnect at the connector on the firewall or is there a connector under the car near the sensor itself?

thanks
Brad

Don't submerge the IAC: swishing around is fine. The O2 connector is long and ends at the firewall.
