I need to perform a patented Don Foster relay repair on my fuel pump relay. Can someone tell me where to find it on my '88 760T, please?

It's not among the other relays facing the passenger side behind the ashtray in the center console.

I found in my 760, it is the square green one inside the center console near the passenger's left foot. I have a Regina system according the the friendly folks at my neighborhood Volvo dealer (Sandburg NW Volvo, Lynnwood WA). The rectangular white relay is for an LH system.

Silly me. I thought they were all LH.

Charles, you're getting all kinds of locations and colors so here's another one. BTW, mine is an 88 760T as well, I replaced my first one a month ago and I have the old one in my hands.
Anyway, in my case it is located with the rest of the relays next to the left foot of the passenger behind the ashtray and it's green, 1 inch by 1 inch and has a white letter B on it.

Take a look, where i said before ripping you center console apart looking for something that might not be there

The relay is on the relay panel behind the ashtray. It is the one on the far left side, middle relay row (there are three relay rows).

The relay for the turbo is a white rectangular relay, and is mounted lengthwise from the front (the short side facing the back of the car).

I favor just replacing the relay since it isn;t really that expesnive ($28 or so online at places like importeccatalog.com). You can resolder it, but this isn't going to guarantee proper repair or that it will last as long as the original. Worth the minimal cash to just buy a new one.

BTW, the green version is the gle, the turbo is white.

Yeah. If it's an expensive part resoldering is understandable... like an ECU or something. There's really no need to cut corner's and go with a makeshift piece when you can get the relay online for cheap:

I guess you could pull a bunch at the junkyard and resolder and then test them all to make sure they'll work as back-ups, but it seems like more of a hastle than $20 is worth.

It's on the driver's side, middle bank, behind the ashtray. I have to pull the lighter / grahphic equalizer on my '88 740, which is easily done-pop off the lighter cover, two screws and open it up like a book (only backwards).

I resolder them, and they have lasted a while, but invariably they fail again--usually at the worst time. But it is a good way to "prove" that the relay is the culprit to your problems. Then buy a new one for about 50 bucks, is my advise!

The 760 relay panel is not accessed the same way as the 740. It's not in the same place.

It may be the green one with a G on it I believe. Pull and see if the car will crank. If it doesn't then that is the correct one.
