What is this thing 700

I found this in my trunk of my '91 740 turbo today while giving my car the first real detailed cleaning since I bought it. I don't know if it even goes to the car. It's just a circuit board inside the case and on top there is an outlet with 2 pairs of prongs sticking out at the bottom of the outlet and another prong above each pair. The only writting on it says "Z25". The previouse owner must have left it. If anyone knows if it goes to the car or just what it is I'd realy appreciate it if they'd tell me.

Hey, Thanks for all your answers. When I got the car the dealership told me that the car came to them with a broken antenna so they put a new one on. The old antenna was in the trunk when i got it. This piece must have just slipped under the trunk liner. Well that answers my questions. Thanks!

Luke

I think it is fairly obvious... this is the elusive 'flux capacitor.' Capable of hurling your brick to unbelievable speeds - like 88 miles per hour :)

What is this thing called a flux capacitor 700

If you load it with 3 gigawatts it can hurl your vehicle, preferably a DeLorean, up to 40 years backwards or forwards. Try it!!

Only 40? Didn't he go back to 1885 at one point?

ACTUALLY!
I know, pick me, pick me!
When functioning properly it actually puts the aerial up a certain distance, not ALL the way, but, some how it reads the signal strength that the antenna is receiving and only puts the aerial up as far as it actually needs to go to get a good signal..... At least thats what our 940 (and several others) that i have seen did, BUT, my 740 one never did (they have the same number on them), so i can only assume that something must wear out in them and they then go all the way!
I live in a pretty strong signal area, and whenever we moved to a weak area and turned the antenna on/off it went all the way up, yet in strong areas, it didn't....
Wierd?
maybe......

I think that's the gizmo that "moderates" the ignition on-off signal that tells the power antenna to go up 'n down. It sorta puts a delay into the signal -- smooths it over, so to speak -- so the antenna doesn't jog up 'n down 'n up 'n down when you turn the key from "on" to "crank" and back to "on."

But then, maybe not.

Nope, you are all wrong! 700

I know what it is, it's obviously a quarter, with a pack of Tic Tacs in the background.

No - it is the supervery important straight steering device.
Edition "Z" Revision "25"
This device controls your powersteering to run the car straight
down the road if you don't steer right or left.
Otherwise the car would go wild like a mustang hunted by a bee-swarm!
Or may be not - who knows?
