Does anyone know the thread pitch for the 240 oil pan drain plug? Is it M16-1.5 thread or possibly M26-1.5?

Hi Dave,
Always have enjoyed seeing the your car on your web site. To my knowledge the
oil drain plug is SAE 3/4 16. This is the same as the oil filter. The oil drain
plug screws right into the filter and I know the filter is 3/4 16.

I don't know Dave, I was told by a machine shop/ fastener supply that "it seems to be 3/4" std. thread". Don't remember exactly the std vs npt thread part but I remember the 3/4" part. My impression is that it never changed over the 240 run. Clay might know and when he was getting an oil temp sender his nearest metric one did not do it. Leaked.
Best is to pull a plug and have a shop really have a good look.
