How do I know for sure if my 91 940SE has Nivo's? And would they be all the way around or just in the rear? Also, has anyone had any luck finding and using good seat covers for the front seats without making hefty modifications? Our 6 year old has a nasty habit of pulling on the torn leather passenger seat, and she has destroyed the seat bottom leather.

Thanks guys for the tips. I sent a message out to a guy in Cali about his seats, haven't heard a word back yet.

I too had a similar quote to replace the leather on my seat bottoms and nearly fell out. I'd just as soon have cloth seats than to deal with leather. Or I may just go buy a cow and have some skin left over for a new sofa and love seat.

$175/ea for new Nivomats?! That's too good to be true. Thank you very much for the heads up on that connection. I'll check for the funky boot tomorrow when the sun comes up.

My '91 945 se has the nivos (rear) they can be identified by rubber
accordion boots on shocks. standard shocks look typical & all metal
with no boot. on the seats, today I found a low mileage 92 745
with VG-EXC leather and trim. I got the headliner for $75.00
both front seats for $125.00 and all the miscellaneous trim I wanted
for $25.00........thats the best way to refurbish the
interior. This find did take many phone calls. I also saw a clean set

He will sell you brand new Boge (OEM) Nivomats with a lifetime warranty for $175 each. Other Boge (OEM) around $50.

I just got some info from www.saabstuff.com which sells leather front replacement covers for under $300. I am waiting to get a brochure and swatch, but it sounds almost too good to be true. A local auto upholstery shop estimated $300 just to replace the three leather panels on the seat bottom - and that if I brought the cover to them and put it back on myself! A tad pricey!

Good luck...let me know what you come up with. (I have a 1986 740, so the seat structure is probably a little different.)
