Rear engine oil leak 700 1986

I have an oil leak from the rear of the engine. I believe the problem is the rear oil seal. My question is how much would it cost to replace this part?

hi ronbess re oilseal . i had one replaced in my 740. the mechanic charged me 1.30 hr labour$ 75 and the seal cost $ 35 aust.he was finished before the 1.30hr wasup .. bill

Check your distributor first. The seal goes bad and oil leaks down the back of the engine, around the bellbousing and it looks like a bad rear main seal.

Someone advised me on this site that it's about 4-5 hrs labour+few bucks parts.Since my leak is intermittent,I've decided to leave it alone for now.
