Options to raise HP on 1990 740 base? 700 1990

So obviously, one of the ways is a turbocharger. I believe (not sure) that the engine is a B230F, although I could be wrong. I'll check tomorrow morning to be sure. How difficult would it be to turbocharge this thing, and what kind of gains could I expect to see? What kind of pre-turbocharging things should I check before doing anything at all?

There don't appear to be any oil leaks, so at least that's good to go.

BTW, the car has about 133K miles on it.

*edit* Yep, just took a look. It's a B230F.

New engine? Hmm, okay, forget about that 700 1990

There's no aftermarket thing that's doable? Or it just needs heavy modification to work on the B230F? Also, how about an engine rebuild? Does doing one of those usually bring back a lot of the life of the car? I guess I'm just trying to decide on something "fun" to do on the car that'll give it some more kick. ;-)

Thanks for all the info again.

Very expensive and difficult to turbocharge (requires new engine and exhaust). Instead, sell the car and buy a turbo or a B234 GLE.

assuming you new to performance mods... one of the easiet things you can do is a cone filter. mount it righ on your amm. second would be a big exhaust. to turbocharge the engine... guess what. Your going to need a COMPLETE turbo engine from a wrecked car. Your mechanic could do this for you but it would cost a bundle.
