Don Foster, go look at this one! 200

Hi Don -

You are a lot closer to Cape Cod than I, maybe this is one for you. 1980 265, 142K miles. Here's the eBay tag:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1807951286

If you do go look, how about letting us know if it as nice as it looks.

Regards,

Bob

Note the tree shade which is hiding the faded-flaking paint job.

Geez, that would be my fourth baby-blue 245, and I really HATE roof racks. I've never owned a PRV engine, I think for good reason.

I'm 30 minutes from the canal, and the Cape's long -- it could easily be 2 hours away. At $2k, or more, for a 1980 car with 140k miles and a 3-spd automatic, I don't think I'm interested. Also, it's curious that he calls himself as "The Old Car Warehouse" in Connecticut but has a Massachusetts phone number listed on his eBay site. Looks like he's having an identity crisis or simply doesn't know where he is.....

But thanks for thinking of me.

On the other hand, the Cape is almost passable this time of year, and wife.rec might like a day at the beach. Baby blue cars are known to discourage thieves, which is probably why this one is for sale. The owner left the keys in it for two months, but no one would drive it off...

I think I suggested that Tom do that with Christine, if he did it there were no takers and I don't think Christine was even baby blue!

Interesting that it's "rust free" but on Cape Cod. You must have a different kind of salt spray than the kind we have down here. Does seem pricey for a 22 year old V6, doesn't it?

Another reason not to go to Cape Cod 200

http://www.capecodonline.com/cctimes/barcourt.htm

There are two other courts in the area. They are also busy. Seems that even an innocent visit to the mall can be hazardous.

I actually know 3 of those people in that court report, comes w/ living in the same town 48 yrs,[born here].Massive growth and low paying jobs don't help, also the cops don't 'look the other way' like they used to[when it was a small town]I've got a 'good job w/ a good wage' and one more daughter in high school so i'm here for a couple more yrs.[plus the best mtbiking]
Anyway ,that volvo ad sounds too much like slimey used car lingo,'volvos sterling reputation' for example

What's that four cylinder distributor cap doing there? Spare parts maybe? Methinks it'd be nice to see some underhood shots before bidding.

The spare distributior cap between the two front seats? Wasn't that standard equipment on all Peugeot-Renault-Volvo V6s? NMI 200

NMI

"...standard equipment on all Peugeot-Renault-Volvo V6s?"

Yeah, but a 4-cylinder cap as a spare for a V-6?

Look closer!! It is a V6 distributor cap. 200

Look closer at that distributor cap my friends. You can clearly see it's a
V6 cap with the weird spacing they have between terminals. At first glance
I thought it was a four also. Then I remembered about the weird terminal spacing.
The engine designers did that as an attempt to make the motor run smoother. hehe.

After all these years I would only take a V6 model if it was given to me. They
don't have Volvos 'sterling reputation'. I go along with the post above that
mentioned used car dealer BS lingo.
